Associate Professor at the Biotechnology Laboratory (LBT) of the Center for Biosciences and Biotechnology (CBB) of the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro (UENF). Dr. Vanildo Silveira is an Agronomist (1998) and holds a Master's degree in Plant Genetic Resources (2001) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a Doctorate in Biotechnology (2004) from the University of São Paulo (USP). Prof. Vanildo has been a CNPq Productivity Fellow since 2010, was a Young Scientist of Rio de Janeiro State (JCNE-FAPERJ) fellow from 2011 to 2017, and is currently a Scientist of Rio de Janeiro State (CNE-FAPERJ) fellow. In scientific management, Prof. Vanildo was the Treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Plant Physiology (SBFV; Board 2009-2011), a member of the organizing committee of the XIV Latin American Meeting of Plant Physiology and the XIII Brazilian Congress of Plant Physiology in 2011, and between 2015 and 2017 was a member of the Fiscal Council of the SBFV. In academic administration, Prof. Vanildo has held the positions of Director of the Center for Biosciences and Biotechnology at UENF (2020 to 2023), Coordinator of the Biological Sciences Course (03/2009 to 01/2011), Secretary-General of UENF (02/2011 to 03/2012), Director of Information and Communication of UENF (04/2012 to 12/2015), and Head of the Laboratory (Department) of Biotechnology of the CBB/UENF (02/2016 to 06/2017; 02/2024). Prof. Vanildo has conducted his research in the area of Plant Physiology and Biotechnology, where he has supervised undergraduate and graduate students in Plant Biotechnology and Plant Genetics and Breeding Programs at UENF. Prof. Vanildo has coordinated projects with an emphasis on Plant proteomics and in vitro morphogenesis.
